In our short trip in Italy, Como was the city we definitely fell in love with. We enjoyed walking down the beautiful streets of this lovely city, travelling by boat and with the funicular, tasting the local wine, going shopping and seeing the city from above. So, we have gathered a few suggestions and some travelling tips for you to see in this enchanting city:

1. Go by boat

Our favorite thing in Como was travelling by boat. A ride is approximately 10 euros and you can take the lake tour to see the exquisite town. From the pretty and colorful houses to the mountain view, the whole experience is just amazing!

2. Take the funicular

This was the first time for us using the funicular. The ride costs about 5 euros and it’s a fun and amazing experience. When you arrive at the top, you will find a pretty small town, where you can sit an enjoy the lovely view.

3. View the city from above!

After the funicular ride, a small journey awaits you. You can walk around a pretty road full of beautiful villas and also admire pretty monuments. After just 15 minute of walking you will get on top the city and see its amazing view.

4. Wander around the pretty streets

On each street you will find great architectural design, brilliant shops or a lovely pubs. You just have to wander around the streets and start your discoveries. The entire city is like a pretty maze with lots of treasures waiting to be found.

5. Enjoy a glass of wine and a beautiful sunset

In Como you can easily find yourself in a romantic fairy tale. From the beautiful sunset to the small wine pubs where you can listen to jazz, this small city has a great vibe that you will dream about for weeks. So sit on the deck and enjoy the beautiful sunset on the lake and after that find a cozy pub where you can sit and enjoy the city vibe. Our favorite place was Il Sorso, on Piazza Volta 8, a great wine bar with beautiful jazz music that looked like a place from an old Hollywood movie.

6. Go shopping!

On Via Vitani 26 we found Lopez Vintage, the prettiest store we’ve ever seen and we’ve magically fell in love with it. This store is also a beautiful jewelery museum. Here you can find a lot of brilliant vintage pieces that date back to the ’20 from Chanel, to Hermes, Dior and so on.  Also, next to it, you can shop in a more affordable store with funky and colorful clothing items and accessories from the ’70 and ’80.
